Journey through time at the El Quartelejo Museum. Learn why you can find sharks teeth in Kansas, and what life was like for Native Americans and Pioneers. You will see a replica of the El Cuartelejo pueblo, a sod house, and other 3D historic scenes. A great way to tour the museum is on a guided tour, especially for young children!
You can also visit the Jerry Thomas Gallery & Collection at this same location. Admission is free!
The El Quartelejo regional history line may be divided into three categories:
Geology: Featuring rock and fossil formations for which this area is famous.
Prehistoric: Focused on the American Indian before there is written documentation.
Euro-American: Regional history since the late 19th century
